E4ers Private Social Network

E4ers Private Social Network.

Keeping a finger on the pulse of audience sentiment.

Summary.

E4 wanted to build a relationship with 15-34 year olds, ensure their new shows appealed to them, keep a finger on the pulse of audience sentiment and stimulate conversation amongst their peers about the channel and its content.

Working with E4’s experiential agency Amplify we took on the challenge to deliver a private social network, shaping the creative approach, user experience and technical solution.

User Experience.

Rapid interactive prototyping towards the solution.

Our UX team researched interaction patterns on popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter to inform the site architecture and user journeys combining the best of both worlds.

Creative.

“Working in close collaboration with our UX team we developed colour & typography systems that not only reflected the E4ers brand but reinforced hierarchies of information & interaction.”

– Stephen Horner, Design Lead

Technology.

Leveraging open source and educating administrators.

We created a bespoke CMS solution that allowed us to manage the entire campaign via one central admin area. Content could be entered and then published to the Facebook app, website and mobile platforms at varying times.

Our technical team leveraged open source technologies and Facebook intergration to deliver a robust and feature rich platform on a tight budget and timeframe that met Channel 4's stringent security requirements.

In the first four months the platform generated 24,000 comments, conversations and recommendations as they spread the word amongst their friends about E4.

Results.

Hearing young opinion leaders and stimulating brand advocacy.

The E4ers project has proved itself as a vital tool for Channel 4 to tease series, hear young opinion leaders views on them and stimulate advocacy.
