TheOpen.com Scoops Major Award at the DADIs
We are delighted to announce that TheOpen.com has been awarded Best Website Design at The DADI Awards 2019.
Topping the judges’ leaderboard against seven other great projects, the digital platform, developed in collaboration with The R&A and TEC, was selected as this year’s winner.
Briefed to deliver The Open into the digital 21st century, Delete took The R&A team through it's full digital transformation programme to create both a reimagined, mobile first, digital experience for fans of this prestigious tournament, and a powerful marketing tool for the brand.
On the win, Kevin Bain, Head of Data and Digital Infrastructure at The R&A, commented: “The Open is golf’s original Championship and is rich in history and heritage. However, the R&A recognise the importance of continuously innovating to stay at the forefront of global sporting events. The digital platform that Delete have provided enables us to do exactly this, empowering us to engage with and expand our worldwide fanbase, while helping us achieve enhanced commercial results.
The new Open.com site Delete have provided encompasses the total experience of The Open, including Event Promotion, Ticket Sales, Qualification, Editorial and rich video content including live coverage of the Championship itself, allowing our global fanbase to connect to us all year round, as well as delivering seriously impressive metrics for The Open and our commercial partners.
